The facilities offered at Starling Village Backpackers will ensure that you have a comfortable and relaxing stay while having lots of fun. Our valued staff is informative and helpful.
Travel Desk and Reception
At our travel desk you will be helped with anything from booking activities to arranging your next overnight accommodation. We have a range of great day trips in and around Plettenberg Bay for those arriving by Baz Bus or any other means of public transport. We will also book your Baz Bus tickets and help you with the best car rentals in the country. Feeling Adventurous? Then try one of the many overlander trips to just about any were in AFRICA.
At Reception we will also help you with anything from towels, postage, burn your photos to CD, laundry, shuttles and anything you may need during your stay with us.
Great Volunteering programs are available; Work with underprivileged children, wildlife, community upliftment and those living with HIV and AIDS.
Guest Kitchen and Braai (BBQ)
It’s easy to cater at Starling with the country-style kitchens fully stocked with appliances and equipment that you would need to prepare a tasty home cooked meal. The Braai (BBQ) gets lit every evening, so bring your meat and stick it on the grill or let us do it for you. We love to prepare food the South African way, so why not join us for a night of true local hospitality and dinner in our Bar and restaurant.
Common Room
The bar area is designed to keep you occupied with a range of free activities, enjoy a few drinks and good conversation with other travellers and locals around our indoor fire pit. Challenge some friends to a game of Pool or foosball; try a new skill on the dance pole situated in the middle of the room. Board and card games are available if you just want to relax a bit.
TV Room and Internet
If you would like to just chill and watch a movie or play around on the internet then this room is for you. With an extensive choice of movies from our library and satellite TV you will always have something to watch. Books and magazines are available in this area and the internet is free. Comfortable and cosy, making you feel right at home.
Swimming pool and garden
The swimming pool is build from our old water reservoir with a big deck for sunbathing and is a great place to have sundowners while enjoying the colourful sunsets. The garden is spacious with views of mountains, forest and neighbouring farms. There are lots of comfy hammocks, tables and chairs scattered throughout the garden for the best relaxed atmosphere on the Garden Route.
