RAGE 2012 AT STARLING BACKPACKERS
Plett Rage 2012 will be the best yet and will be the 8th RAGE that Starling Village Backpackers will have the privilege of hosting.
Starling coined the term ‘SAFE RAGE’ where the accent is on great times with built-in safety. Our shuttles, supplied by the best local wheels operator, are all driven by PDP licensed drivers and are regularly tested. We transport our guests to town, beaches, pubs and clubs. ARRIVE ALIVE.DRINK and let us drive.
Doctor is on standby 24/7 during this time for any eventuality.
Adult supervision and extra security patrol the premises and are visible around the clock to make sure all our guests are safe and their privacy maintained.
All Students at Starling receive an WRIST BAND, and we have all their information with the next of kin contact details, doctors number, blood type, allergies, ID number and all emergency numbers. The WRIST BANDS give student’s entry into Starling Village Backpackers and can be checked at any time.
Private liquor is not allowed on the premises as it is against the law and completely demolishes safety standards. Our bar area is a focal fun point and boasts funky music, a bon fire, pool table, table soccer and table tennis. All major sports events are shown live in the bar.
The amazing pool area hosts great sunsets and volley ball court, hammocks chairs and great lounging lawns.
Food is always a big deal during the RAGE as students do not like to cook for themselves. At Starling Village Backpackers we sell chicken and beef burgers, hotdogs, breakfast rolls and braaipacks. Junk food, HOME COOKED, at its best! The menu will be email to you closer to the time in order for you to work out your budget.
School leavers should have the space to party and take home memories far greater than ‘how many beers were consumed’. Plettenberg bay boasts some of the greatest beaches, clubs and activities in the world. Skydive from 10 000ft. or attempt the Highest Bungy. Whale watching, sea kayaking, Monkey land, birds of Eden, mountain Bike in our exquisite forests, hikes, paintball, game drives, elephant rides are but some of the dazzling pastimes. All this can be booked through us. Just a mere 20min walk from Starling Village Backpackers you will find the wild side, a small Fishermans hut with the most amazing views, rock climbing and rock pools to cool down in.

To allow for all to enjoy and celebrate the closure of High School and make space, The Plett Rage gets split in two weeks. Arriving 23th Nov-Departing 30th Nov and arriving 30th Nov and Departing 8th Dec a full week must be booked. Starling Village Backpackers will exclusively only sleep 80 students in rooms and dorms and the rest in camping, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Rage Transport
Starling Village Backpackers uses, Marcelo taxi & shuttle services, a local transport company.
The shuttles will be working as follows:
There will be 5 pickup and drop off points at all the Plett Rage venues:
- Starling Village Backpackers
- Surf Cafe in Beacon Isle Street
- Central beach
- Cubar in Main Street
- VIP in Trutter Street
Any trips that are not to these destinations will have an additional cost
Shuttle times:
- From Starling Village Backpackers between 9:00 – 13:00
- From town between 15:00 – 18:00
- From Starling Village Backpackers between 20:00 – 11:00
- From town between 1:00 – 7:00
There will be a 30 minute to 1 hour waiting time.
There will be a free pick up and drop off when you arrive and when you leave from the Shell Ultra Bus station.
Weekly Transport Price are as follows, week 1 R500 per person per week and week 2 is R550 per person per week. The price include pickup and drop off at Plettenberg bay Shell ultra station for student who arrive by bus. Shuttles from George airport can be arranged at an additional cost.

There is electrical points available in our entertainment area to charge your phones and the ablutions have electrical points for hair-dryers. Please be aware that prices DO NOT include breakfast, we will send you a menu in order for you to work out your budget.

Wades house is situated next door to Starling Village Backpackers overlooking the beautiful gorge, it has 5 rooms available that sleeps 8 guests each with a shared kitchen, there is braai facilities available. Parking, shuttles, restaurant and bar is available at Starling.
