Transport
Starling Village Backpackers uses, Marcelo taxi & shuttle services, a local transport company.

We provide 3 free shuttles per day to town and beaches where they will drop you off or collect you at the Flea Market in Main street or at the Main beach in front of Moby Dicks restaurant:

Please let the staff know if you will be making use of the shuttle so we can arrange it.

Pick up & drop off to Baz Bus is free. Mainliner bus drop off’s at night is R60 per guest, two guests R40pp groups of three or more R30 per person and you need to arrange with us in advance.
If you require a shuttle in between these times you can make use of the following:
Minibus taxies
The minibus taxi’s that runs to town are safe and run on a regular basis, you will need to have patience as they only run once the shuttles are full and you will need to give them a call to save you a space when going from Starling, when in town you can ask them where you will need to catch the taxi back, this is a great way to meet the locals and only cost R8 per trip. They run from 8:00 – 17:00
All other transport
Birds of Eden or Monkeyland – R250 1 to 2 guest + return. 3 to 7 guest R350 return. Groups of 8 or more R50 per guest.
Plett Game Reserve – R350 1 to 2 guest + return. 3 to 7 guest R400 return. Groups of 8 or more R50 per guest.
Bungy jump – R400 1 to 3 guests return, groups 4 or more – R100 per guest.
George Airport – R600 1 to 2 guests (drop off), groups R950 per bus.
P.E Airport – R1400 1 to 2 guests (drop off), groups R2000 per bus.
Plettenberg bay surrounding – R50 per guest.
Robberg Peninsula – R40 1 to 3 per guest Return. Groups of 4 or more R30 per guest.
Keurbooms – R80 1 to 3 per guest one way, groups of 4 or more R60 per guest one way.
Knysna shopping trip – R400 per guest max 2 guests.
Any other destination can be arrange and prices can be negotiated.
