Learn how to Skydive
A Tandem Accelerated Freefall program consists of 10 levels, each of which is represented by a jump.
All of your equipment, your ‘chute will be a student parachute equipped with a Cypres Automatic Activation Device (AAD). This inbuilt computer monitors your height and rate of decent. You will be given a two way-radio so that we can assist you with your landings, an altimeter, goggles and helmet.
Courses starts with an introductory Tandem skydive with no task for you to complete.
The next two jumps are Tandem jumps where you will learn the basic aspects of freefall skydiving and parachute control.
You will then spend a day at Ground School. Here you cover the basics from exiting the aircraft to learning to fly your parachute.
Once you have completed the ground course you will have a very good understanding of all the basic aspects involved in freefall skydiving. You will now be ready for your first skydive.
Level 4 to 7 will be with a single instructor and here you learn independence in freefall, including moving forward, initiating and stopping turns and regaining stability from front and back loops.
Level 8 – 10 you jump solo and put together all the skills you have learnt under the watchful eye of your instructor monitoring you from the ground.
The instructors involved in training are all endorsed by PASA – the Parachute Association of South Africa.
